Glass Annealing Furnace
Glass is brittle material after the manufacturing and shaping at high temperature procedures. Heat treatment process by heating at about 500-550 oC and following cooling rates can improve mechanical properties of manufactured or shaped glasses.
Cooling rate determines the formation of the different structures in the glass having different physical and mechanical properties. Process is called as glass annealing, if the heating process about 500-550 oC is followed by relatively slow cooling. In short annealing is residual stress relief process and improve the mechanical properties of glass.
